A 3D Environment for Cutting Edge Research
The Modeling and Simulation Center is a virtual reality environment comprised of a state of the art four-wall immersive display theatre, called the “CAVE”. This unit features life-size, near holographic images, a head tracking system, and interactivity through a user-controlled wand. In simple terms, this means that objects appear to “float” in space, can be viewed from any angle, and look real enough to reach out and touch.
Environments can be imported from multiple 3D applications and visualized to conduct near life-like reviews and to gain a better understanding of plant layout design and product flow through spatial relationships associated with complex data sets, designs, and structures. AWFI offers this environment to equipment manufacturers as well as those in the coatings industry looking to optimize part to part and robot to part distances. The “CAVE” can also be utilized as a visual environment to optimize efficient robot path optimization and sequences.
The virtual reality environment and researchers at Riverstone are ready to customize, program, and integrate your equipment needs specifically for your product design requirements. AWFI’s team can evaluate hardware and programming requirements and identify funding sources to develop a solution for your virtual reality projects.
