AWFI has recently finished work on a year-long development project for an energy efficient affordable housing. The project is part of University of Virginia’s School of Architecture program – Initiative reCOVER. The construction is panelized and can be flat-packed and assembled in just three days. The first version of the house has been assembled in Haiti and is currently being used as a medical clinic.
The coatings were a unique challenge due to the need for an application process that needs to work within manufacturing facility environments. The coatings also needed to comply with International safety requirements for fire, mold/mildew resistance, and other characteristics allowing it to perform in harsh conditions.
The project is part of UVA’s Initiative reCOVER. For more information please contact Kenny Stevenson at (888) 840-2934.
